four places.

Went to 1U, The Curve, IKANO and IKEA today; four places in maybe 4 hours. A pretty amazing feat I'd say, though we went to 1U just to drop off Rainbow for his grooming in the first place before heading over to The Curve for dinner and shopping. Heh. I actually wanted to go for Penang food but it seems like my sister doesn't so we ended up at Sakae Sushi instead. We prefer Sushi Zanmai to Sakae Sushi but what to do, there's no Sushi Zanmai in The Curve! The only thing I like about Sakae Sushi is when you can personally order your food through the computer. It's fun, in a way. So... food piccas anyone? ;)

Mum paid for the bill, in the end. I feel bad. Not really. I'm kinda broke because I bought this from BORDERS:

79.90MYR for three. Bundle price. Cheap? Not really but I bought it on impulse all because of the covers. So shinyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I wonder when I'm gonna finish reading all three. Probably a few months? Haha. Reading pace has been going really slow lately, like a snail. But I like books by Jodi Picoult. I actually wanted to buy the other one titled 'My Sister's Keeper' which had been made into a movie but it's sold out. -sadface- These three will do for now. Heh.

I'd like to write more about my shopping experiences at IKEA and IKANO but meh, just the same old story. Walked around, browsed around and that's it. Though mum bought a few stuffs from IKEA and I bought myself some compartment separators for my new wardrobe which costs 39.90MYR. So expensive but so useful. -sweatdrops-

little penang kafe

Went to The Curve for lunch today before W goes off to work, and planned to have Secret Recipe but ended up dining at Little Penang Kafe instead. It's my second time there and the food is still as good as last time. W wanted to try out their Siamese Assam Laksa (which is only available on Friday, Saturday and Sunway; and we've been wondering what's so special about this dish) last time but they were sold out so this time, we asked before being seated. Luckily, they're still serving that. So, W ordered that while I settled for one of their set lunches of mushroom chicken, sambal prawn with petai (stink beans) and mixed pucuk paku (fern) with rice. It costs 13.90MYR, not including taxes, for the set lunch.

The boss himself came over to take our order and after he's done, W suddenly felt like to try out their rojak (vegetable salad dish) as well, so we called out to a waiter and ordered that, too. By the way, I had barley ice and W had iced water, as usual. It wasn't a long before our food arrives and we start digging away. But before that, picca time! -muahaha!-

The infamous Siamese assam laksa ♥♥♥

Rojak ♥♥♥

Their Siamese Assam Laksa doesn't really taste that good. I mean, it's not up to the standard that we've been expecting, to be honest. The santan is a bit too heavy for our liking. My set lunch on the other hand was a whole lot better than the laksa. I'm giving their mushroom chicken a thumb up, though the sambal prawn with petai tastes good but the portion is too small. They only serve ONE tiny prawn with FOUR slices of petais in that plate. A bit disappointing for a petai lover like me. -sadface- The pucuk paku tastes all right but still, I'd prefer if they don't put too much onions into it. It spoils the whole fern taste imho.

...andandand, the rojak! That's a really good plate of rojak I think. It's not too spicy and not too sour and not too sweet. It's just perfect. Really, you've to go and taste it to know. -grins- I'm not sure about the other dishes available but will definitely go back there again to check them out.
